I am Debajit, After dedicating 22 years to the upstream oil and gas industry, I made a life-changing decision to follow my passion for transforming education. This wasn't just a career change – it was an answer to a calling to help develop our next generation of independent thinkers and leaders. As a parent, I've seen firsthand how the constant focus on comparison and competition from traditional school based education system, can leave children with fragile self confidence. My own kids have faced moments of doubt when they encountered peers who seemed ‘better’ at something (often based on marks). These experiences are common, yet heartbreaking—children appear confident, but their sense of worth crumbles easily, leaving them feeling isolated and disconnected. They struggle to build meaningful, cooperative relationships and often find themselves navigating a deeply unnatural life, far removed from their innate potential. This made me question: What if our children didn’t need external validation to feel confident? What if they could be grounded in absolute self-confidence—anchored in their ability to see reality as it is and think independently? True confidence doesn’t waver when faced with challenges or comparisons. It allows children to thrive in harmony with others and the natural world.
Think about it—children learn their mother tongue without formal teaching. They absorb it through experience, observation, and interaction, guided by their own curiosity. This natural learning process has been overlooked in favor of rigid, syllabus-driven instructions which then gets tested based on backdated exam system. But real learning is internal, based on perception and realization. It’s a deeply personal journey that no teacher can control, and when ignored, it turns education into a burden for both teachers and students. This insight forms the foundation of Sundarbon.org. We aim to return to the essence of learning: empowering children to lead their educational journey. Here, learning is not imposed; it’s discovered. It’s not about memorizing facts but about nurturing critical thinking, fostering leadership, and building absolute self-confidence. When my kids began homeschooling, I witnessed their transformation. Free from the constraints of traditional education, they explored their interests, solved problems creatively, and learned to trust their abilities. They didn’t just study; they experienced. Through this process, I realized how education must evolve—not to make children fit into a mold but to help them break free and thrive as individuals.
